Approval for 23 banks to practice custodian activity for another year until the end of 2024:CBE

The Central Bank of Egypt(CBE) revealed the renewal of approval for 23 banks to practice the activity of custodians for another year ending in 2024, out of a total number of banks practicing the aforementioned activity of 30 banks, according to the annual report.

The Central Bank explained that the presentation is underway for the rest of the banks according to the dates of renewal of their approvals. The renewal of the activity of primary dealers for 7 banks out of a total of 16 banks was also done according to the dates of renewal of their approvals.

It revealed that 8 banks were approved to deal in the secondary market for government securities as non-primary dealers (dealers not committed to covering the initial issues of government securities).
